The episode begins with SpongeBob and Patrick trying to be with Squidward at 3:47 a.m. They try sharing stories and memories of how they usually were. This angers Squidward very much, prompting him to be tortured until the sunrise. Squidward wishes, he could never see Sponge Bob and Patrick ever again! Therefore, he makes a electric fence to keep them out. However, he gets shocked by the fence and first replies with ''Do you have cute sea horses there'' when SpongeBob tells him that he will be at the Zoo. Squidward, now a happy and delightful person goes with SpongeBob and Patrick to the petting zoo. Then, at nighttime, Squidward says ''Good night Bikini Bottom, I love you!''.

SpongeBob and Patrick feel weird about the new Squidward, and Squidward wants to be with SpongeBob at the Krusty Krab together. Mr. Krabs does not want Squidward to help SpongeBob, and Squidward becomes Employee of the Month with a cake that decorates SpongeBob. Also now, Squidward wants to show extra love to the customers at the Krusty Krab and starts selling ''tartar sauce and refills....for free'' Squidward then gets ketchup dimples which made him become the new ''Employee of The Month'' Now, SpongeBob is tired of Squidward taking his life and job. Squidward then got shocked again by the electric fence, and turns grumpy and stiff once again. However, SpongeBob and Patrick get shocked too, and turn grumpy and stiff like Squidward.

==Trivia/Goofs==
*The part where the Mother Fish talked to her daughter was deleted. (After her mother asked what is wrong her daughter her daughter then answered: he asked me if I wanted tartar sauce and then he gave me a free hat.)
*This is the first time Squidward has become ''Employee of the Month''. Usually SpongeBob is the employee of the month.
*In this episode, SpongeBob and Patrick said that their favorite past-times are going in Squidward's room to watch the sunrise but they never do that in any other episode, SpongeBob and Patrick does not go in Squidward's room in the morning to watch the sunrise.
*On one scene where SpongeBob, Patrick and Squidward had fun together was similar on episode [[My Pretty Seahorse]] when SpongeBob and Mystery had fun.
*The bathroom for boys was misspelled as ''Bouy''.
*In this episode shows, if Squidward was not grumpy and stiff all the time his life could have been better, even better than SpongeBob's.

==Plot==
At Mrs. Puff's Boating School, Mr. Fitz (Boating School Superintendent) is talking to Mrs. Puff on her high record of failing students, in which SpongeBob is the only one, who has failed 1,258,056 times. Mrs. Puff needs to show Mr. Fitz everything she taught SpongeBob. A few seconds later, SpongeBob has failed another driving test. Mr. Fitz fires Mrs. Puff, and a new boating instructor named Sergent Roderick (most likely a shark) comes in and takes over the school. He has various strict rules in his class, but one student is thrown out for talking and another is thrown out for eating. The other students run away, except for SpongeBob, who is his only student.

The new boating instructor has set up a difficult course, in which, before driving, SpongeBob must crawl, walk, run, then walk blindfolded. As soon as SpongeBob masters this, he has to face a driving test, without the blindfold, which he could not do. When he starts driving, he ends up destroying the boating school and destroying about half of the town. Mrs. Puff, meanwhile, is painting a field, but the boat drives through it and Mrs. Puff is caught in the boat. Roderick is removed from the boat trying to stop the car but he is unsuccessful. The rampage continues until most of the city is destroyed until he hits Patrick and he has Patrick's pants on his head. he now drives very good and goes back. Mr. Fitz then realizes that SpongeBob is "unteachable" and he rehires Mrs. Puff which gives her mixed emotions.

==Cultural References==
*When Sergeant Roderick comes in and talks about his second rule (no eating in class), then he offers bon-bons to one of the students, and after one of the students eats one, he literally throws the student through a wall. This scene is remarkably like the scene in the movie, Matilda, where the "Trunchbull" offers a piece of cake to a young boy, and punishes him for it.
*After all of the other students flee from the classroom, Sergeant Roderick says to SpongeBob, "Looks like you're the man, sponge," a reference to Finding Forrester, and the site YTMND.

==Trivia/Goofs==
*The Season 4 Volume 1 DVD case resembles the episode.
*Mrs. Puff says that only SpongeBob has ever failed her lessons. This is contradictory to a subtle reference to another catastrophic driver in the episode, [[No Free Rides]].
*SpongeBob can only drive non-catastrophically when he is blindfolded.
*SpongeBob runs into an acid-filled trench and comes back out as a skeleton, but sponges are invertebrates.
*In the episode [[Squirrel Jokes]], SpongeBob revealed that he doesn't have bones. However, his bones appeared in the episodes [[Squid on Strike]], [[Shell of a Man]] and this episode.
*Sergeant Roderick says that its illegal to drive blindfolded in Bikini Bottom.
*SpongeBob could have easily closed his eyes in his boating test to substitute a blindfold.
*Closed-captioning error: at the beginning of this episode, Mr. Fitz says that he represents the Boating Teachers Accreditation Bureau. However, the captions said "voting" instead of "boating."
*If Sergeant Roderick said it was illegal to drive a boat with a blindfold on than why did he have SpongeBob drive the course with a blindfold on?
*After SpongeBob destroyed half the city and asked Mr. Fitz if he had passed, he said "Well, if there was a 'destroy the city' part of the test you would have." But unfortanutely, there was no 'destroy the city' part of the test, so he failed ''again''.
