SpongeBob and Patrick are at a Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy fan club meeting, where they learn a new movie will be made based on the heroes but they find that the movie is played by younger actors much to SpongeBob's and Patrick's dismay. When SpongeBob and Patrick wants the real Mermaidman and Barnacleboy to play in the movie they tell the club members that they must boycott the movie, but he and Patrick just get thrown out of the building. Instead, the boys go to Shady Shoals and tell Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy that Drippy Brothers Studios is making a movie about them with new actors. The heroes find the news horrible. Patrick suggests they make their own movie. Everybody likes the idea. <br />

Patrick filmed it with the lens cap on, with everything destroyed; there is no footage of the movie. SpongeBob, who goes berserk, knows the movie is ruined. Mermaid Man convinces him to finish the movie and goes on.<br />

The leader of the Mermaidman and Barnacleboy Fan Club does pay a lot of money to buy 200 tickets on opening night, but only because the Drippy Bros. production is sold out before the Mermaidman and Barnacleboy movie can be seen, and the entire fan club (except SpongeBob, Patrick, Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy) does not like it because it looks like an old timey movie, skips some recorded dialogue, is about two minutes in lenght, when it shows Sandy doing the stunts and when instead of saying "Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy Unite!" Mermaid Man says "'Mermaid... "Click!" "Manicleboy Unite!" . However, Mermaid Man is glad that SpongeBob proved he and Barnacle Boy had "action" left in their old bones.<br />

SpongeBob and Patrick are at a Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy fan club meeting, where they learn a new movie will be made based on the heroes but they find that the movie is played by younger actors much to SpongeBob's and Patrick's dismay. When SpongeBob and Patrick wants the real Mermaidman and Barnacleboy to play in the movie they tell the club members that they must boycott the movie, but he and Patrick just get thrown out of the building. Instead, the boys go to Shady Shoals and tell Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy that Drippy Brothers Studios is making a movie about them with new actors. The heroes find the news horrible. Patrick suggests they make their own movie. Everybody likes the idea. <br />

After coming up with ideas, SpongeBob Squarepants and the crew (Sandy Cheeks, Pearl Krabs, Eugene H. Krabs, Patrick Star, Squidward Tentacles, Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy) meet to make the movie. SpongeBob is in charge of the movie. Squidward, the makeup artist, prepares the actors for the movie. Sandy is in charge of using the dynamite for explosion scenes. Mr. Krabs will cater the crew while Pearl is the leading lady. Patrick's the cameraman and Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy are the stars. Plankton auditions for [[ManRay]], but can't have the part because the villain's not in the movie, so he works the boom instead. Mermaid Man has trouble with one of his lines and it takes 5,003 takes to get it right until Plankton accidentally shoves the boom into his mouth. <br />

SpongeBob reads a scary book before bedtime. When he and Gary go to sleep, SpongeBob gets afraid in the dark. The next day he goes to work, whenever he sees darkness including blinking he over reacts to it. Mr. Krabs told him to buy a night light. All is well until he discovered the other rooms inside his house still covered by the darkness and then he rushed back to the store and bought some more lights. Patrick wakes up and sees the light in Spongebob's house. Patrick thinks Spongebob is throwing a party without him and storms to Spongebob's house. Spongebob lets Patrick in and tells him the scary things about the dark, so Patrick moves in to SpongeBob's house because he becomes scared of the dark too, but makes a hole in the wall letting in all of the darkness. SpongeBob and Patrick buy all sorts of light, probably stole some as well. This caused Squidward to wake up. One light has an M on it alerting Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy. They find out there is no danger until a moth comes which Mermaid Man has been searching 57 years. SpongeBob traps it but it flies away with the top of his house and gary. At the time that is now morning, Patrick runs to the sun for more light, but unfortunately there is too much of it and run back to earth on fire and Spongebob goes to sleep.<br />

==Plot==<br />
SpongeBob reads a scary book before bedtime. When he and Gary go to sleep, SpongeBob gets afraid in the dark. The next day he goes to work, whenever he sees darkness including blinking he over reacts to it. Mr. Krabs told him to buy a night light. All is well until he discovered the other rooms inside his house still covered by the darkness and then he rushed back to the store and bought some more lights. Patrick wakes up and sees the light in Spongebob's house. Patrick thinks Spongebob is throwing a party without him and storms to Spongebob's house. Spongebob lets Patrick in and tells him the scary things about the dark, so Patrick moves in to SpongeBob's house because he becomes scared of the dark too, but makes a hole in the wall letting in all of the darkness. SpongeBob and Patrick buy all sorts of light, probably stole some as well. This caused Squidward to wake up. One light has an M on it alerting Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy. They find out there is no danger until a moth comes which Mermaid Man has been searching 57 years. SpongeBob traps it but it flies away with the top of his house and gary. At the time that is now morning, Patrick runs to the sun for more light, but unfortunately there is too much of it and run back to earth on fire and Spongebob goes to sleep.<br />

When SpongeBob misses a spot on a plate, Mr. Krabs keeps him there at the Krusty Krab until he gets the spot off. So SpongeBob tries every way he can to clean the spot off. He tried a tank, spiting and others. But the spot would not come off. So SpongeBob produced a cleaning machine with a [[The Ultimate Cleaning Machine|Cleaning Laser]]. SpongeBob fires at the plate too hard, and accidentally blows up the Krusty Krab. He got the spot on the plate off, but Mr.<br />
Krabs is angry that he blew up the Krusty Krab. SpongeBob is then chased by the mad crab.<br />
