Role in Episode

In the episode, Nick Fishkins is a retail agent who buys people’s houses and sells them for a profit. He first appears in a TV commercial at Patrick Star’s house, where he says "I’m Nick Fishkins and I want to buy your home!" Because of the conversational style of the commercial, Patrick is forced to believe that Nick has literally bought his home without him being able to do anything to stop him. In response, Patrick moves out and joins SpongeBob SquarePants at his house. However, the same commercial airs on SpongeBob’s TV and upon hearing Nick say "Sold!" SpongeBob and Patrick scream in shock. As a result they move out and build a makeshift house made of garbage in the backyard of the Krusty Krab. Squidward, who is delighted by this, goes along with the mistake, despite knowing that their houses were not really sold. Eventually, Squidward is forced to admit the truth and, after chastising SpongeBob and Patrick for taking the commercial literally, calls Nick Fishkins to ask him to "Flip my house, so I can move away." SpongeBob and Patrick, taking this literally, flip Squidward’s house upside-down and Nick arrives, refusing to buy the house, much to Squidward’s dismay.
